The latest flare-up and consequences for India

Image
By Mukesh Devrari  There are a few things every Indian national must keep in mind. Not everything we have been told about our military strength, weapons, and technological capabilities to defeat Pakistan in a military confrontation is true. It is true that India has the advantage of having a large population and can sustain the conflict for a longer duration. That means, in a boxing ring, we can take a beating for longer. We can tolerate large casualties and afford to lose more equipment than Pakistan. In no way are we in a position to inflict injury on Pakistan as Israel does on Palestine after the terror attacks. If the courage to trigger conflict is concerned. India has no match for Pakistan's motivation. Pakistan knows it cannot launch a traditional war with India. Hence, it attacks India by using proxy organizations and successfully destabilizes India. Consider for a moment: the entire nation of India was debating how to capitalize on the rising tariffs on China imposed by the...

U.S. Government Attacks Free Speech, Bans TikTok to Silence Competition

Image
By Mukesh Devrari  The United States government decided to ban TikTok, citing national security threats. However, it was not made clear what the actual danger was. The Chinese private company ByteDance owns TikTok. The US government accuses TikTok of having direct links with the Chinese government and of conducting propaganda operations in the United States. The US regime did not provide any evidence. Americans were bombarded with propaganda to believe that their government was telling them the truth. The operation of TikTok has been scrutinized for a long period of time, but Americans could not find any evidence of wrongdoing. However, this did not deter American lawmakers from attempting to ban the world’s most successful social media company. In fact, the US government did not initially ban TikTok. First, it tried to pressure the Chinese owners to sell it to American companies. They wanted to force Chinese private companies to share their technology and algorithms with Americans...

Overconfident India and the West: A Time for Caution

Image
By Mukesh Devrari  The 2024 is almost coming to an end. The Modi government was elected for the third time in May 2024. It is also evident to most voters that the BJP has no new ideas. It is also a signal that Modi’s political career will come to an end in 2029. He is already 74 years old, and the physical and political fatigue is palpable in his body language, speeches, and campaigns. Undoubtedly, he is a good captain who lacks good players in his team. He has no choice but to appoint critical ministers. Most of the BJP leaders are either thoroughly corrupt or incompetent. Most had no exposure and were likely to burden India’s standing in the world.  It is fair to assume that the Modi government is trying to bring FDI to India. It is implementing all policy suggestions provided by the corporate world. There is a panacea to solve the plethora of problems this country faces. The BJP itself creates some of the issues. The confrontation with Canada is unnecessary for the followin...

Beyond the Hype: A Closer Look at New Zealand

Image
By Mukesh Devrari Last year, I met a young caucasian Australian girl living in New Zealand, Lily, who was a nurse but fed up with her job. She was upgrading her skills and studying psychology. Her next destination was to become a psychologist. It was not a mean feat to pursue another four-year degree program after a three-year nursing program, particularly in New Zealand, where youngsters are more interested in weed, alcohol, and other recreational drugs to have fun and relax than working or aspiring for more incredible things. What is the source of this contentment? It is not spirituality or enough money for sure. However, I am unsure if money can bring peace and fulfillment to anyone’s life. Yes, one can use the money to buy freedom.  It is not some hidden secret about New Zealand. People are laid back, relaxed, and easy-going, which is a polite way of saying lazy. Nothing can be far from the truth. New Zealanders are generally very hard-working people. They are the worthy inhe...

Is India Too Blind to See Its Own Dirt?

Image
By Mukesh Devrari  Benjamin, a British YouTuber, runs a channel named Bald and Baldr, which has more than four million subscribers globally. He is one of the most famous traveling bloggers in the world. He visited India for a short trip and posted a video on 19 September. Riding on his success, he is far more aggressive and contemptuous than he was on his previous trip. He shared his views on the filth, chaos, and low quality of life without mincing any words. His remarks about British rule and things built during their British Raj merely reflected his poor understanding of the evil empire that caused immense suffering to millions of people living in this country.  Indians often don’t realize that they have been lied to about many things since childhood, before visiting abroad. Most Indians believe there is no food like theirs. There is no religion like theirs. There is no country like theirs, there is no weather like theirs, no culture like theirs, there is no democra...

Hopefully, Supreme Court has buried Bulldozer Justice

Image
By Mukesh Devrari The Bulldozer justice is not justice. Irrespective of the crime, the criminal must be prosecuted through the courts. That is essential for establishing the rule of law and creating a civilized society. Undoubtedly, some of the crimes in India demand immediate justice due to the emotional reaction of people affected by the severity and nature of the crime. Still, the state must inform people that the judiciary's purpose is not punishment for revenge. The purpose is to reform the criminal. Revenge is not the purpose of the justice system in modern society. This debate has already been settled. In law books, India has kept capital punishment, but it is rarely used. In the last thirty years, barely 3-4 people have been hanged for committing heinous crimes. Two of them were involved in terrorist attacks, killing many civilians.  This bulldozer justice by the UP government was particularly troublesome. There is no doubt that most of the criminals in India belong to l...

Disappointing First budget, Modi govt fails to inspire the nation

Image
By Mukesh Devrari  Never in the history of India has such a dull budget been presented by any finance minister. The BJP government began its third term with this budget, yet it offers nothing substantial to anyone. It is a widely held belief that the middle class supports the BJP because of its emphasis on economic development, rather than relying on distributing freebies to gain votes during elections. The BJP has historically championed globalization, liberalization, and privatization. In fact, this commitment cost them the 2004 election. Since then, no government has dared to speak openly about the Ministry of Disinvestment. There was hope that the BJP would provide some relief to taxpayers. Salaried individuals, who form the backbone of India's taxpayer base, expected reduced tax rates. Unfortunately, this budget failed to meet their expectations, leaving the BJP’s largest support base — the middle class — deeply disappointed. India is an aspirational nation. It has a vast y...
